Lucy was a rescue Yorkie.  In her memory, Gracie & Co. is donating $5.00 from the sale of each signed copy of the book, "Yorkie Doodle Dandy" to the Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue.  Mr. Bill Wynne, Vice President of this organization, and author of the book, writes about his Yorkie, Smoky.  Smoky was also a rescue dog, having been found in a foxhole in New Guinea during World War II.  She ultimately became a decorated War Dog for service to her country and was also the first documented therapy dog.

When a tragic accident claimed the life of my precious Yorkshire terrier, Lucy, I found a blessing through my tragedy.  I designed a litterbox-training system to protect my new "baby", Gracie, from so many dangers outside.  When many friends and family members told me that they thought Gracie's litter box would help other people and their little dogs, I went to work.

Dissatisfied with other products marketed as dog litter boxes, I designed my own.  I wanted more than a modified cat litter box or an unsanitary grid-and-tray system that had to be emptied and rinsed, which were the only products available for dogs.  Working with Patrick Henry, Gracie's patent attorney, I customized my design of the GracieLoo™, an indoor bathroom station for toy breeds and small dogs.  (And yes - he is related to "the" famous Patrick Henry from our American history!)

Through all the seasons in Gracie's life, her GracieLoo™ has been invaluable. When she was a puppy, it kept her safe indoors away from outside dangers. When she was an adolescent, it provided the utmost in convenience for both Gracie & me.  As an adult dog, Gracie's consistently good litter box habits established her firmly as a responsible member of my household.  But it is now, in Gracie's golden years, that I have found her GracieLoo™ to be indispensable.

Not just for a time, but for all the seasons of a dog's life...
